Outstanding Mid-Atlantic Inlaid Corner Cupboard - Lot #: 224

Outstanding corner cupboard. Circa 1790-1820. Most likely Maryland or New Jersey. Top section with deeply molded and dentil-carved cornice. Hinged arched doors bordered and centered with maple sting inlaid. Molded arch above door symmetrically joining pillar sides. Each door has ten paines and has a painted interior with plate grooves with flaking paneled canted corners, set on lower section. Lower section has two drawers above two hinged paneled doors. Maple string inlaid borders, keyholes and stenciling. Original brass pulls with painted blue interior. All on molded bracket feet. Eight pointed maple inlaid pinwheel starts. Popular secondary wood. Oak. 59w x 29d x 97 1/2h.
